Creating an Insane Amount of Business Momentum

There are six ways to create an insane amount of momentum that will drive your business to greatness.

1. Know what you want.

A lot of people say that they want to grow in the business. That statement has no clarity. It has no focus because it has no formal definition. Before you want to grow your business, you need to describe what your business will look like in advance to getting there.  Describe your profits, the sales, the amount of turnover, the amount of staff you have, where you are working and in how many locations. Go deeper than that. Describe your conversion rate. Describe the amount of leads that you will be generating. Describe your average dollar sale and the frequency of transaction and your margin. So clear should be this description that you can see it in advance of being there. Once you have done that, now you need to launch into a massive amount of action.

2. Take massive amounts of action.

I can give you 282 different strategies to build your business from a sales and marketing perspective. So when a reader has said that they have tried everything, they have not. So, take massive amounts of action and start with the low-cost ones first.

3. Sit back and review it.

As soon as you have activated a system, sit back and review it. Ask yourself the question “Is it working?” Be open because sometimes, as business owners, the greatest challenge is our ego. Just because it is your idea does not mean that is has to work. Just review it. Inspect what you are getting from that action. Do not just look at it and say, “Oh that looks nice.” Is it getting a result?

4. If something is not working, change it.

There is the saying, “If the horse is dead, dismount.” If it is not working in business, and you have measured it, and you have implemented it correctly; for goodness sakes stop doing it. Do not get caught up in saying that you have always done it this way. The key question is what result are you getting from doing it that way?

5. If it works, celebrate!

When something works, give yourself the reward.  We have got to anchor achievement equals reward. We have got to have fun. We have to celebrate the victories no matter how small. Now as soon as you have finished celebrating, continue doing the thing that works. Systemize the thing that works and train your staff to use it.

Unfortunately, a lot of organizations get bored and after a while and then they start changing things that never needed to be changed. The customer is not bored with it because it is still working. Do you know who is bored with it? The employers. If something is continuing to work, then continue to do it until it stops working.

6. Success leaves seeds.

If you want to get somewhere really quickly, just hang around someone who is already there. Read their book, go to the seminar, visit their business and for goodness sake get their recipe

Once you have your business up and running, do not sit back and relax. Create momentum, stir up momentum and push their boundaries and seek constant never ending improvement.
