Technology Commercialisation
Experience
Nick has a track-record of
successful technology
development and grant
applications, including a 400k
grant to develop a wireless,
solar powered camera system. At
Curtin University, Nick led a
team of engineers to develop
this technology. On leaving the
university in 2007, Nick has
continued to develop this
technology through several
phases, with commercialisation
planned for 2010. A
demonstration system is
presently deployed in Perth,
Western Australia. As part of
this work, Nick received a
commendation from the chancellor
of the Curtin University for his
research into error resilient
image compression.
Also, in 2004 and as part of a
team of three engineers, Nick
founded a start-up company
AuQuest Pty Ltd to develop gold
detection technology. Since this
time, the AuQuest GD1000 was
developed, a gold detector
capable of outstanding depth
performance on ground of very
high mineralisation. Nick played
a key role in developing the
marketing materials, patent
specifications, website design
and running technology
demonstrations across Australia.

Vic has twice founded and grown businesses from an idea to success in his career, he has also had significant senior management experience, as a GM, CEO and International VP in manufacturing and distribution industries. His strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking, coupled with formal business and technical tertiary qualifications, have allowed him to achieve significant revenue and profitability growth over his career.

A strong strategic mind-set, coupled with an ability to lead senior and middle management teams have been the keys to Vic's commercial success across a range of industries. Throughout his career, Vic has demonstrated his capability to effect change, turnaround, re-engineer and grow businesses both organically and via acquisition.
Vic began his career as a production planner in the packaging industry, progressing to a production supervisor and eventually to sales. He then joined Reckitt & Colman as a Packaging Engineer, after completing his degrees he spent a year at Unilever in New York, before joining Roussel Laboratories UK as Head of Packaging Development.
Vic formed his own Packaging Consultancy in London, ADEPT, which became the largest packaging marketing consultancy in Europe with offices in Hamburg and London.
Returning home in 1980, Vic became GM of Toshiba Australia. He then moved to Esselte Dymo, Australia, then the World's largest stationery company, firstly as CEO Australasia before becoming VP Asia pacific in 1990.
Vic has two children who both live in London; he collects art, writes poetry, plays squash and cycles.
